The DogStar Approach
Guidance Without Judgment. Accountability Without Shame.
Our approach is grounded in the belief that recovery is a unique, non-linear journey. What Makes the DogStar Approach Different?
EFT Tapping
Emotional Freedom Techniques, commonly called EFT tapping, combine focused reflection with gentle tapping on specific points of the body. We use tapping as a supportive wellness practice to help participants pause, reconnect with themselves, and develop new ways of responding to stress, cravings, and emotionally difficult moments.
Nervous-System Regulation
Many people in recovery have spent long periods living in survival mode. We provide practical education and mind-body exercises designed to build awareness of stress responses, recognize signs of dysregulation, and practice grounding, settling, and self-regulation skills.
Mindfulness and Somatic Grounding
We incorporate mindfulness, sensory awareness, movement, visualization, and body-based grounding practices. Participants can explore different techniques and identify which tools feel safe, useful, and sustainable for their individual recovery.
At DogStar Revolution Recovery, we combine the human connection of recovery coaching with innovative, holistic practices that support the mind-body connection. Our approach recognizes that sustainable recovery is not only about changing behaviors—it is also about learning to manage stress, understand internal responses, develop healthier patterns, and reconnect with the body.
Holistic Nutritional Wellness
Our whole-person approach may include nutritional education and thoughtfully selected Ayurvedic products tailored to the wellness needs of people in recovery. Recommendations consider the participant’s preferences, health history, medications, allergies, and existing care plan.
Breathwork
Intentional breathing practices can help participants slow down, become more present, and reconnect with their bodies. We introduce accessible breathwork techniques that participants can use as part of their daily recovery and wellness routines.
Neuro-Informed Recovery Practices
Our innovative approach incorporates neuro-informed education and exercises that help participants better understand habits, triggers, reward patterns, emotional responses, and the brain’s capacity to learn and change. These practices encourage greater self-awareness and support the development of healthier routines and responses.
Subconscious Pattern Awareness
Participants are supported in identifying deeply rooted beliefs, automatic reactions, and recurring patterns that may affect their choices. Through guided reflection, intentional repetition, visualization, and strengths-based coaching, participants can begin developing more supportive narratives and habits.
Ancient Wisdom. Modern Understanding. Individualized Recovery.
DogStar’s approach brings together lived experience, practical coaching, holistic wellness traditions, and emerging mind-body knowledge. Every participant is encouraged to explore supportive practices, discover what works for them, and build a personalized toolkit for long-term recovery and well-being.
These supportive coaching and wellness practices are educational and non-clinical. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or behavioral health condition and do not replace medical care, psychotherapy, crisis services, or substance-use treatment.
More Than Recovery—A Life Worth Staying Connected To
We don’t just focus on the symptoms of substance use or mental health struggles; we focus on the whole person. We help you build a life that feels worth living—one where you are regulated, resilient, and deeply connected to your community and your purpose.

Peer Support Guided by Clinical Ethics
At DogStar Revolution Recovery, our recovery coaching and peer-support services are intentionally non-clinical. Our coaches do not diagnose mental health or substance-use disorders, provide psychotherapy, make medical recommendations, or replace services delivered by licensed treatment providers.
What makes our approach unique is that our peer-support team operates with access to clinical oversight and professional supervision. This additional layer of guidance helps our coaches maintain strong ethical standards, healthy boundaries, appropriate documentation, participant safety, and a clear understanding of their professional scope.
Clinical oversight supports our team in:
- Maintaining ethical and professional boundaries
- Recognizing when a participant may need clinical or medical care
- Making appropriate referrals and coordinating services
- Responding responsibly to safety concerns
- Protecting participant confidentiality
- Using trauma-informed and person-centered practices
- Strengthening documentation and service quality
- Preventing peer support from crossing into clinical treatment
- Supporting coaches through consultation, training, and professional development
Authentic peer connection—strengthened by professional accountability.
Our participants receive the understanding, encouragement, and lived-experience perspective that make peer support powerful, along with the added confidence of knowing that our team is committed to ethical practice, ongoing supervision, and responsible coordination with qualified providers.
“Clinical oversight and supervision do not make recovery coaching or peer-support services clinical treatment. DogStar’s coaches provide non-clinical support within their training and scope. Clinical assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, medication management, and crisis treatment must be provided by appropriately licensed professionals.”
